Licensing Credits Are Required
Flashing a tune file with HP Tuners requires the proper licensing credits before the file can be written to the vehicle. Taking the time to follow the correct steps helps prevent delays, failed flashes, or unnecessary issues during the tuning process.
Credits can be applied two ways:
During your MPVI device purchase
Or when prompted during the flash process
Credits are typically a one-time purchase per vehicle. Additional modules, such as a TCM, may require separate licensing.
To check how many credits your vehicle requires, use the HP Tuners supported vehicle list or follow the prompt inside the HP Tuners software during flashing.
Download VCM Suite Software
Before beginning the remote tuning process, you'll need the latest version of HP Tuners VCM Suite installed on your computer.
⬇ Download VCM Suite Latest BETAWhy use the BETA version?
The BETA release includes the newest features, bug fixes, and expanded vehicle support before they're available in the standard version.
We strongly recommend using the latest BETA to ensure maximum compatibility with newer GM platforms and the most up-to-date tuning features.
Vehicle Read
Open VCM Editor and click the green Read arrow at the top center of the screen.
When prompted, always select Read Entire to make sure all modules are fully captured, including ECM, TCM, and any additional supported modules.
Vehicle Write
Click "Open" and select your saved tune file. Once loaded, click the red "Write" arrow located at the top center of VCM Editor.
Apply Channel Configuration
Before collecting datalogs, you'll need to load the correct channel configuration into VCM Scanner. This ensures all of the necessary parameters are recorded for an accurate tune revision.
Open VCM Scanner.
Click the yellow folder with the gear icon Recent Channel Config.
Select "Open Channel Config".
Browse to the .xml channel configuration file provided with your tune package.
Open the file and verify the channels have successfully loaded before beginning your datalog.
Connect to the Vehicle
Before recording datalogs or flashing a calibration, verify that your HP Tuners MPVI interface is properly connected and communicating with your vehicle.
Start Recording
Once your MPVI device is connected and communicating with the vehicle, you're ready to begin recording live data.
Stop Recording & Submit Your Log
After completing your drive, stop the recording and save your datalog so it can be reviewed for your next tune revision.
